Dr. Patricia “Trish” Kelshaw is a certified athletic trainer, assistant professor, and director of the Brain Research and Assessment Initiative of New Hampshire (BRAIN) Laboratory at the University of New Hampshire. In 2018, she was awarded a fellowship with the Concussion Research Program through Harvard Medical School. Her research endeavors encompass mild traumatic brain injuries among pediatric and adult athletes. Her work has focused on how concussion assessments, demographic considerations, athlete development models, game-play behaviors, and protective equipment may affect head impacts and concussion incidence in athletes across diverse backgrounds. In addition to her research background, Dr. Kelshaw has worked with concussed pediatric athletes as the head athletic trainer for a large metropolitan youth football league. She intends to enhance knowledge and improve healthcare in concussion management for pediatric athletes.
